Mysterious Mr.Richard novel Chapter 50

Pearl knew that Richard was the eldest son of the Zellweger Group, although he was very low-key. They'd been studying in the same high school, no one in the school knew about it. But, her first interaction with Richard had something to do with his family.   

Up to now, she still remembered that it was during their school's sports day. Richard fell and injured his knee during the relay race. That day, she was resting in the infirmary because of her physiological period.

Behind the curtains, she was awakened by an argument.

"His knee is injured, and it's even bleeding. What's wrong with the school? Can't you even guarantee his safety? I'm going to talk to your headmaster."  

The young woman's voice was not loud, but full of anger.

However, the boy was very calm, even a little indifferent. "It's just a small injury. If you look for the headmaster,  The boy was calm and even indifferent. "It's just a little injury. If you talk to the headmaster, I'll drop out immediately."

Hearing the word "drop out", Pearl became interested and pricked up her ears to continue eavesdropping.

So arrogant!

Back when they were young, those students who were rebellious towards their parents and teachers were worshipped by the other students.

The young woman was mad. "Richard, what do you mean? Are you threatening me?" 

"It's not a threat, I'm telling you the consequences. You have the right to do so, and I have the freedom to drop out."

"Well, I'll send you abroad to study if you drop out."

"I won't go abroad."

"You..." The young woman was evry mad. "Fine, you want to revolt? Okay, up to you. You can do whatever you want, so go fool around! I'll see what you can do in the end!"

With these words, the door of the infirmary slammed shut and the young woman left.

After a long time, a boy's voice came from outside. "When were you planning to stop eavesdropping?"   

Pearl's heart clicked. She held her breath, kept silent, and pretended to sleep.

The curtain was pulled open from the outside. When the light came in, she subconsciously raised her hand to block her eyes and saw a figure between her fingers.

Under the light, she saw a clean and young face covered by a layer of golden sunlight.  

 "I'm sorry, I didn't eavesdrop on purpose. I was really sleeping before." Pearl was stunned for a long time before she remembered to apologize.   

"It's fine." The boy's temper was not as intimidating as it was a moment ago. When he introduced himself to her, he was totally different. "I'm in Class 1A. My name's Richard Zellweger."  

"Pearl... Yonng." She breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at him. "I'm from Class 1B."

Shortly after that day, Pearl heard that one of the school's shareholders had donated a lot of money to refurbish its racetrack, using the best materials. The shock absorption and fall prevention function ranked first in the world. There would be no marks on the knee after a slight fall.

Besides her, the rest of the school didn't know that one student's injury caused this huge change.

It's always simple to get closer when you're young. A secret shared between two people, the glances during class, giving a bottle of water during basketball training...   

Many years later, and Pearl still felt that her best days were left in her school days.

But now memories always hurt.

Pearl gathered her thoughts, "It's also because of your brother's accident that you went back to your family, right?"  

"No." Richard glanced at her. His gaze was somewhat distant. 

Pearl clenched her fork tightly. "So what was it?"

"What do you think?"

"I... I have no idea."

"Because you broke up with me. I applied for Ocpeace Medical University because of you. Since you were gone, why would I waste my life? So I decided to pour all my heart into my career." 

Pearl was stunned a little.

"Do you think I would reply you like that?" Richard's eyes gradually turned cold.
