Kilrog quickly turned around.
In front of him stood a young woman with a ponytail. Her flying daggers had pierced him, but he had not even noticed her presence. He had no idea when she had appeared behind him. As he looked at the wound in his body, he was stunned to find that it would not heal. He immediately threw a punch at the woman, but she vanished right before his eyes.
The God-Slaying Daggers swiftly pinned Kilrog to the wall. The woman, chewing gum, looked at Kilrog with disdain. "Hmph, still not dead?"
At that moment, the Woodrow brothers stepped forward. "Thank you for saving us, miss. May I ask for your name?" Shane inquired.
The woman turned to look at the three of them. "Miss? Why so formal? My name is Mallory, but you can just call me Mal."
The three were shocked to see the young woman before them. She seemed to be around their age, perhaps even younger. They did not expect her to be able to overpower a powerful being like Kilrog so effortlessly.
"Miss, we should quickly—" Shane began, but he was interrupted by the ringing of Mallory's phone.
"One moment," she said, answering the call.
Mallory answered the phone.
"Hello, Fabian. Yes, the people from Universal Group have all arrived."
…
In the distance, inside a helicopter, Fabian was seated next to a martial artist wrapped entirely in bandages. He was using his true energy to protect everyone from Universal Group. Fabian said calmly, "That's good. Continue with the operation."
"Mr. Hughes, can we really trust the information from this earpiece?" the bandaged martial artist asked.
"We'll have to trust it for now," Fabian replied, though he was also feeling a bit uncertain.
Fortunately, he had received information about Ruin's plan, and he immediately recognized the special nature of the earpiece.
"For now, this is our best shot at getting a complete understanding of the battlefield. Let's trust it for now. By the way, how's the God-Slaying Daggers working for you?"
