Should the worst-case scenario occur, Nash had mentally prepared himself. If Fremu was not lying, then he was not the one who started the fire; it was someone else. However, Fremu did seem familiar. He was probably the shadowy figure Nash had chased while the firestarter was another person.
Nash had previously fallen for Fremu's trap, so he could not be unprepared this time. He had learned how to dispel flames within his body from Ronan, and the skill proved useful in this operation. Because of this, Nash did not notice the liquid when he had just healed himself back then.
Admittedly, while the ModHumans were weak on their own, their abilities were quite troublesome. Or more precisely, it was the Illuminion that was troublesome.
The abilities the potions enhanced were likely specifically for targeting cultivators. Flames that could burn true energy, bullets that could penetrate true energy shields, and liquids that could corrode true energy—these guys were really a headache.

On the street, Evelyn was out shopping for some groceries to cook a meal and was imagining how happy Nash would be when he returned to see the food she had prepared. With this thought in mind, she hopped along the street cheerfully.
However, she was unaware that multiple pairs of eyes were watching her from behind her. Several shadowy figures slipped into an alley as they continued to tail her.
Suddenly, Evelyn sensed something. She turned around but saw nothing behind her. Thinking it was just her imagination, she continued walking down the street.
On the other side of a wall, Mosley had crushed three black piranha-like creatures with his hands. Behind him, Patrick appeared again.
