The branch manager finally snapped out of his daze, but his anxious expression did not go unnoticed by the shareholders present. Everyone looked at him in confusion.
"Mr. Skye... The shareholders are all here... Isn't it a bit..." the old manager stammered. He understood that while he could not afford to offend Theo, the current situation demanded an explanation for the shareholders.
"I said, we'll discuss this tomorrow. If you're not convinced, put me on speaker, and I'll tell them myself," Theo replied.
The old manager, caught in a difficult position, reluctantly put the phone on speaker. "Everyone... Mr. Skye has something to say to you all..."
The shareholders quickly gathered around, stretching and straining their necks to hear every word, fearing they would miss something important.
Thinking an earth-shattering announcement was about to be made, they held their breath.
Theo's cold, nasally voice came through, "Dear shareholders, we won't be coming today. I apologize for making you come all this way. Please head back. We'll meet tomorrow at the same time and place. Rest assured, we won't cancel on you twice."
With that, Theo ended the call without hesitation and tossed the phone back to his assistant.
"Mr. Skye, I..." the assistant wanted to explain further, but Theo raised a hand to stop him.
Seeing that Nash had already fallen asleep, Theo decided not to disturb him.
