Simon patted Shane’s shoulder. "Haha, every day will be a great day, you dummy!"
Shane joked, “Are you calling me an idiot? Getting a bit cocky, huh?”
“Haha! I won't do it again. Hey, hey, stop it, I’m ticklish!”
After a bout of playful banter, they stopped and leaned against each other, eventually falling asleep.
When they woke up, it was already dark.
“Simon… Simon.”
“What’s wrong?”
“Wake up. It looks like we missed the last bus.”
“Ah! What time is it?”
“Let me check.” Shane tried to look up the time, but his vision was still blurry even after rubbing his eyes.
Simon grabbed Shane’s hand and looked at his watch, which showed it was already 10:00 pm.
“It’s that late already?”
“Yes, Mom and Dad must be very worried. Let’s hurry back.” Shane stood up and tried to pull Simon up, but Simon did not stand up.
“What’s wrong?” Shane asked.
“Shane, there’s another bus.” Simon pointed to a bus that was heading north that came to a stop before them.
“No... That’s not right. Our home is to the south.” The moment Shane said that, a bus heading south appeared in front of them.
“Let’s go, Simon. Let’s take this bus." However, no matter how much Shane pulled, Simon remained seated. He suddenly hunched and shrank considerably.
“Simon, what’s wrong?”
