"Huh? That won't do."
"Don't worry, I won't give up on myself that easily," Clint said, a trace of sadness flashing in his eyes.
Mosley looked at Clint. He seemed to come to an understanding about something but was unable to address it now. Their immediate priority was dealing with the Vortex Demon God. Since they could not stop his abilities, they had to make do with temporary measures.
Mosley glanced at the dark energy in his hand, which he had acquired in the Land of Nion.
"If that's the case, let me use this!"
Mosley swallowed all the dark energy, or rather, souls. Instantly, his skin turned pitch-black before he reverted to looking like a normal human. His teeth grew incredibly sharp. His pupils contracted into slits while the whites of his eyes were stained black. His ears and nails also grew long and pointed.
Clint looked at Mosley in astonishment, noticing the resemblance of his appearance to when Deluca was in his berserker state. "This… This is just like..."
"Mr. Melton," Mosley called out.
"What is it?"
"Remember this! I'm now immortal. Even if you hit me, it doesn't matter. Understand?"
Clint nodded thoughtfully. He understood Mosley's intention. From the beginning, he had not attacked ever since the start. Instead, Mosley had been summoning demons to protect him.
Mosley's message was clear—he would do his best to hold off the Vortex Demon God, preventing the Vortex Demon God from interrupting Clint's release of power. That was why he had emphasized the fact he was immortal.
"I can probably only use this once," Mosley said.
