My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1868

Hendrix shot an emotionless stare at Kennedy, who was looking rather frantic. He decided to stop hiding the fierceness in his tone. "Aunt Kennedy, Uncle Trent, which one of you is planning to tell me who the man in this photo is? Everyone knows that this person is dead, yet he now lives in Mesville. Why?"

The change of tone in his last few sentences showed that Hendrix was past concealing his emotions.

Even I could tell that Trent wasn't surprised when he saw Johannes' photo. It turned out Hendrix was right about Trent knowing the truth.

Hendrix had once said that although Trent treated him quite well, he had always been slightly distant with Hendrix. Thus, Hendrix slowly lost his sense of security with him, and no longer bothered about knowing the truth.

It was only until he took over the Roberts Group and became a calculative businessman himself that came to a gradual realization that he could trust no one in the world.

Hendrix had always blamed the distance between himself and Trent on the ugly side of humanity; forgetting the simplest possibility that perhaps they were never family in the first place.

What couldn't be explained at this point was the DNA test.

"Uncle Trent, am I really your nephew?" Hendrix's voice grew colder.
