Out of the blue, a thought flashed through my mind. The more a man did to make him feel guilty towards his wife, the sweeter his words would be.
At the thought of this, I added a little ambiguously, "Well, I don't think so. Once you've cooperated with Serene, a billion dollars will be a piece of cake for you, won't it?"
Hearing this, Hendrix finally realized that I was upset.
He sighed helplessly and after a while, he spoke again, "The team that is developing the antidote for you is also in this hospital. I was planning to stay and observe their progress. Did you think I was here to accompany Serene?"
Once I heard those words, I felt relieved. I straightened my back and threw the pillow aside. Biting my lips, I changed the topic, feeling slightly guilty, "How is it going?"
"The first batch has been manufactured, and the experiments will begin soon. If it's successful, it can be used right away. Then, we don't have to hold back in dealing with Sebastian anymore," Hendrix explained. He seemed to be very confident.
