Seeing me smile while staring at her, she was stunned and asked, "You want to ask me something about Aaron, don't you?"
My eyes widened. She smiled and said with relief, "It doesn't matter. Ethan knows everything. You can ask anything. By the way, I almost forgot to tell you that Ethan and I are getting married. I planned to invite you to come try on some wedding dresses with me. You know I don't have any close friends, so I thought of you almost instantly. However, I know you're busy because of Anne."
She said everything in one breath. I was stunned for a while and said with a smile, "My mother can look after Anne. When are we going? Tell me in advance. Oh, did you make it clear to my brother? Carney is too young. I do support your decision, but..."
She nodded and glanced at me, "Arianna, I know what you mean, but I'm turning thirty-three soon. My time is precious. I've thought everything through. I did what I should. I'm grateful that I met Ethan when I was at my lowest. He dotes on me like he's spoiling a child and made me understand what love is. We can love many people in our life, but we can only stay with one. I want to be with Ethan, and I'm very sure about that. I know you're worried about your brother and Carney, but Arianna, I treat you as a friend. I hope that you'll see things from my perspective as well, okay?"
It was true that Yana had been waiting for Aaron for many years. During these years, she had broken her teeth one by one and swallowed her grievances. Years of grievances made her forget that she was a woman who needed love.
Now, she wanted to live her own life and she was determined. Aaron would never know the weight of what he'd lost. For the rest of his life, he would never meet another person who was willing to wait for him for years and give up everything for him.
