My Pretty Sweetheart novel Chapter 1324

I lay in his arms and nodded, feeling a little relieved. I originally thought that if one day Josiah came out from prison and he wanted Anne back, I would let Anne make her own choice when she grew up. But now, I didn't think so. He put Anne in danger. He doesn't deserve to be introduced to her as her father.

"Mrs. Roberts, since you are pregnant, you must be careful with everything from now on. Don't be rash." Holding me in his arms, Hendrix spoke gently with a hint of helplessness. "I know you're worried about Anne's disease, and you're even more worried that I'll mistreat Anne because of the baby in your womb. However, Arianna, please trust me wholeheartedly, alright?"

I nodded in fear. "Can Anne’s disease really be cured?" The memory of Rita still lingered in my mind. The chemotherapy had left her looking almost deformed within a short month. I couldn't imagine what Anne would become.

Hendrix nodded and said, "I have contacted the best doctors. They will find a suitable bone marrow as soon as possible and perform a transplantation. As long as the surgery is successful, Anne will survive."

A bone marrow transplant!

I paused for a moment, then looked at him, "Let's go look for Josiah. He's the biological father of Anne. His bone marrow can definitely match with Anne's, right?"

Hendrix nodded slightly and looked at me. "I have something to tell you. Josiah was seriously injured in prison. It happened just now!"

"He fought with someone else, or?" I was a little confused. After Josiah entered prison, he was treated well inside because of the Saunders family's ties. How could he be beaten up all of a sudden?

Hendrix stared at me and said, "It's Mr. Moore's men. He must be angry at Josiah about Anne, so he sent people to the prison to beat him up."
