“Mommy,” Alden murmured.
His mommy did not allow him to be a hacker in the past, so he had to hide his laptop under the bed.
Was his mommy supporting him to continue as a hacker now that he was turning five?
“Since you’ve received your New Year gifts, it’s time for bed.” Duke carried Melody upstairs. “Daddy will tell you some bedtime stories.”
“I love you, Daddy!”
Melody kissed Duke on the cheek, and Duke’s heart melted.
Since Addy needed some time to adjust, he would accompany the children during this time.
If the children actually got hurt, Addy might not be able to forgive herself for the rest of her life.
At 12:00 am, they heard the sound of firecrackers outside the window over and over again. When the kids finally fell asleep, Duke returned to the master bedroom.
Adina was sitting by the balcony, and there were a few empty beer cans in front of her. Her gaze was dazed, and she looked slightly tipsy.
Duke walked over before he grabbed a beer can from her hand and drank it all.
“What are you doing? Don’t grab my beer!”
Adina’s expression darkened as she grabbed the beer back.
Duke chuckled and said, “Why are you so protective of your food like a squirrel? You’re so adorable.”
Adina looked at him and seemed dumbfounded.
She was not protecting her beer. She was clearly angry.
It seemed as if no matter how she acted, this man could still find her good side.
