Ruth’s hand was stopped in midair.
She turned and saw a fierce bodyguard stare at her before flinging her hand aside.
“Mr. Winters, are you okay?” The bodyguard asked worriedly.
Harold shook his head and looked at Ruth with his misty eyes.
‘Four years ago, when I dirtied Mommy’s clothes, she also looked at me with the same angry gaze…’
The bodyguard did not understand what Harold was thinking, but he knew that Harold had deliberately dirtied Ruth’s gown.
He drew a check from his wallet, wrote an amount, and handed it to her. “Is this enough?”
Ruth’s eyes widened. ‘Half a million dollars?!
‘That’s more than double the price of this gown!
‘What a generous gesture for a child bumping into me.
‘Sea City is truly a city with people of unusual abilities.’
“Is it not enough?” The bodyguard’s gaze was cold.
“It’s enough, it’s enough.” Ruth shoved the check into her purse. “I’ll let this time slide. Look where you’re going the next time.’
She turned and headed toward the restroom to wash off the wine stain from her gown.
Harold was at a loss.
‘The evidence is clear. This lady must be Mommy.
‘But when I look at her, I don’t feel any strong emotions…
‘I remember four years ago when I first met Mommy, I would want to cling to her even though she was a stranger to me.
