Madam Quartley didn't believe her.
"Tremaine wouldn't be so easily swayed!" she argued.
Yuliana pressed, "If it was just a regular illness, he wouldn't be taking such drastic measures. I suspect Yesseca might have something very serious. Her life might even be in danger, that's why Tremaine is like this."
Madam Quartley realized how true that might be.
She murmured, "That's possible. Very possible."
Having said that, Madam Quartley slammed her palm on the table angrily. She was very upset at Tremaine for not living up to her expectations. "Tremaine is behaving like a fool! He doesn't care about Nashaland at all, all he thinks about is that woman! That woman must have cast a spell on him!"
Yuliana quickly said, "Madam Quartley, it doesn't matter what Yesseca has done to him. What's important now is to convince Tremaine that he is making the wrong decision. An entire country is much more important than a woman! Tremaine needs to understand that!"
Madam Quartley squared up and said, "I am definitely going to make sure he understands this. I won't allow him to do such a foolish thing!"
After she had spoken to Madam Quartley, Yuliana went to Rorita.
She told Rorita that Tremaine had learned about Yesseca's heart condition.
"Now that Tremaine knows, he's going to give up his position as president. My guess is he's doing this just to be with her again. Rorita, as his wife, you must talk to him and get him to stop this. Tremaine cannot do this!"
Rorita was shocked.
"He's going to resign?"
"Yes!" Yuliana said, "Mr. Welmert called us and said that he was going to resign!"
Rorita's heart began to tighten.
She had noticed that Tremaine had been acting strange lately.
But she never expected him to resign as president.
Rorita staggered backwards in shock. She then said, "But he is the best person for the job. He can't resign over such a thing. Losing him would be a disaster for Nashaland and her people."
