My Four Miraculous Treasures novel Chapter 90

Willow shuddered as she sensed danger after seeing the desire to gossip burn in her mother’s eyes.

She chuckled nervously and changed the subject. “He’s the CEO of Hughes Corporation. I know him, but he doesn’t know me.”

Then, she took a sip of water so Lara couldn’t see her eyes. After all, her mother knew her well enough to know when she was lying.

That would only lead to an interrogation until she learned all that she wanted to know.

“So he’s the CEO of Hughes Corporation. Now that’s a really eligible bachelor and a successful man. It’s no wonder he’s so dignified. That makes sense. Samantha couldn’t possibly get an excellent man like that no matter how lucky she is.” Lara felt more at ease.

That man was Hughes Corporation’s CEO, and Willow worked at Hughes Corporation. It was justifiable that Willow saw him at the company.

Soon, Lara realized something was amiss and asked, “Wills, if he’s the CEO of Hughes Corporation, what was he doing at Nason Village?”

“Uh… How would I know? He probably has a project at Nason Village and was there for inspection.” Willow had asked Jasper the same question, but the man never answered.

She couldn’t think of a reason either.

However, Lara seemed to be satisfied with her speculation.

“That makes sense. Wealthy businessmen like to develop projects in villages because the land prices are cheap there,” Lara said.

“Wills, you still have to go on blind dates. A woman should have a man to rely on. Don’t worry, I’ll find a good one for you this time.” Lara changed the subject back to the original topic.

Willow begged, “Mom, spare me. Life is good now, so don’t go through that trouble for no reason.”

“What do you mean no reason…”

“Mom, I’m tired. Let me rest and watch some TV,” Willow quickly cut her mother off. She sat down on the sofa and turned the television on.

The children must be playing in their room or taking a nap since the living room was quiet.
