My Four Miraculous Treasures novel Chapter 40

Her plan had been seamless, and Samantha had helped her conceal the truth for the past five years.

Jasper hadn't suspected anything.

Who would have thought that Willow would come running to Jasper on her own?!

In recent days, Jasper had begun to doubt whether the woman from five years ago had really died.

The looming sense of crisis in Edith's heart grew even more intense.

There had been several opportunities to have Willow fired. Unfortunately, Edith had missed them all.

With countless thoughts racing through her mind, Edith saw Jasper look up, and their eyes met. She quickly regained her composure, concealing her desire for him.

She approached him and said in a gentle and sweet tone, "It's nothing, sir. You're busy, so I'll just clear away the cups for you."

She walked to the coffee table to collect the used coffee cups.

Jasper turned away and continued to focus on the documents, but he uttered in a low and magnetic voice, "Leave these trivial matters to the cleaning staff. Your three-day vacation should already be in effect."

Edith had been picking up the cups, but she suddenly stopped at his words. She turned to look at Jasper, and her usual assertive demeanor softened. There was even a hint of helplessness in her eyes.

"Mr. Hughes, I just dispatched someone to gather information about that woman in Nason Village. I'm sure we'll have something soon. I'll wait until I get the news and take my leave starting tomorrow."

"Fine," Jasper responded curtly without lifting his head.

Edith silently continued with her task of tidying the coffee table, occasionally stealing glances at Jasper.

This man was not just handsome; he was dignified and intimidating. He also exuded a sense of righteousness. It probably had something to do with his military background. His presence and demeanor were truly unmatched.

As Edith was lost in her thoughts, Tyson knocked on the door and entered.

He walked directly to the desk and reported, "Mr. Hughes, the fashion show will proceed as planned in three days. Here are the design drawings and proposals."

He placed the documents on the desk.

Jasper glanced at them and said, "The old man will be coming. Ensure there are no mistakes."

"Understood, Mr. Hughes," Tyson replied.
