Willow's heart was beating heavily as she watched Rachel answer the phone.
"Hello, are you the mother of the children?" Tyson asked.
Rachel looked at Willow, who nodded frantically at her.
Rachel understood, and nodded. She then realized that she was on a phone call, so she replied, "Yes."
This time, Tyson's words were heavy and serious.
“Due to your ineffective supervision, your children snuck into our CEO's office this morning. They destroyed our CEO's trophies, stained the sofa, and ruined the table. We waived the cleaning fee for you, but you must pay for the replacement of these items.”
Willow gritted her teeth, angry and anxious, when she heard that the cleaning fee was waived. Wasn't she the one who cleaned up the CEO’s office?
What did they take her for? Free labor?!
Damn businessman! They only cared about profit.
Because the phone was put on speakerphone, the children heard Tyson's every word. They exchanged worried glances.
So he wasn’t a scammer!
They did go to the Hughes Corporation that morning, and went to the CEO’s office.
Julian was even more dazed. He was frightened and guilty. Oops! He had taken that man as a scammer, and told the man that Hughes Corporation’s CEO was his father.
He had gone overboard with his acting, and was now in panic. He knocked his little head, his eyes full of anxiety.
