Willow looked around out of confusion before she understood his meaning. She got up and walked over to the gate to say to Jasper, “Mr. Hughes, I don’t need you to bail me out. I can’t leave until my name is cleared. Otherwise, I’ll forever be branded as a thief.”
She thought Jasper was trying to bail her out.
With Jasper’s height, Willow only managed to reach his shoulders, making her seem so small and insignificant.
For someone so insignificant, a tiny setback could drown her completely.
However, he was a mountain. No trouble could ever take him down.
The police officer explained, “The truth has come to light. It was due to the betrayal of a company employee, so your name has been cleared.”
Willow was surprised and shocked. Her eyes widened with excitement as she asked, “Who was the traitor?”
She had just finished asking when she saw an officer coming over with someone in tow.
It was a woman with her hands cuffed.
Her stylish appearance contrasted starkly with her dejected expression.
Willow was shocked to see her. It was Edith Price!
Edith was apprehended!
Willow looked at Jasper, then at Edith, and she came to a realization. It was Edith who betrayed the company.
Willow’s name was cleared now that the culprit was found.
She was suddenly reminded of how strange Edith had been acting lately.
After the initial shock of seeing Edith apprehended, Willow thought this turn of events made sense and was bound to happen.
Edith was in charge of keeping the design, so it was most likely that she leaked it out!
Willow was completely enlightened. She had a feeling that someone was trying to set her up, and that person turned out to be Edith. Edith tried to frame her, but alas, she failed and got herself in trouble instead.
“Ms. Nason, please come out and free up that space for her,” the officer detaining Edith said.
