Realizing she wouldn't get any answers from Aiken over the phone, Simona decided to end the call without pressing further.
There was no point in continuing—the truth wasn't something Aiken would admit to easily anyway.
"I just missed you and wanted to check in on you. Since everything's fine, I'll hang up now. When I'm on break, I'll come back to visit," she said.
"Okay. Stay safe out there. Call me if you need anything," Aiken replied.
The siblings then ended the call.
On Aiken's side, he was naked on the bed while holding a cigarette in his hand.
The room was a mess as clothes were scattered all over the floor.
Wendy had gotten out of bed at some point. She had just slipped on her underwear and was searching for her clothes amidst the chaos.
Earlier, in his urgency, he had been too rough and had likely torn her dress.
"I've already sent someone to bring you new clothes. Go take a shower first," Aiken said.
Wendy paused, her hand halfway through putting on her bra. She looked over at him immediately.
Their ambiguous relationship had gone on for quite some time.
In the beginning, it had been her boldness—she'd had too much to drink and seduced him. Moreover, he had also been drugged that night.
After that, he wanted to compensate her, but she refused and instead made a request—she wanted to be his girlfriend.
Aiken had rejected her, saying he never planned to marry and that being his legitimate partner was impossible.
He had always been surrounded by women, and their night together was just that—a one-night stand. He had even told her that they could only have that one night since she was Simona's classmate and close friend.
