Caleb asked, "Is your brother getting married?"
The brother Caleb was referring to was Charles.
Skylar was taken aback. "Getting married?"
She hadn't heard anything about it. Charles had always been firm on his decision not to marry. He didn't even want to get into a relationship, focusing entirely on his work—acting in film after film.
"It seems like it's just another fake news story. It was trending on social media not long ago. The post was like an essay, detailing how Charles met that model and where they are now.
"Anyone who didn't know him would have thought it was true," Caleb said, his lips twitching in disbelief.
The entertainment news these days was completely unreliable.
Skylar rolled her eyes. "It's probably just people trying to use Charles for publicity. Don't take it seriously."
Fake news like this seemed to crop up from time to time. The writers spun stories so convincingly that it almost felt like they were true.
"The rain is relentless. I'm heading to the hotel nearby. Call me if anything comes up tonight," Skylar said as she finished organizing her work.
Caleb replied, "Got it."
As Skylar was leaving, Caleb was about to visit Alexander. Just then, Simona called.
"Why the sudden call?" Caleb asked, surprised. Simona had gone overseas for her studies last year, and due to the time difference, they couldn't even call each other for three to four months at a time.
Simona replied, "Do you remember that over two years ago I mentioned that I thought Aiken was in a relationship?"
Caleb thought for a moment. "Yeah, I remember you saying something like that."
"And for the past two years, I've been waiting for Aiken to tell me he's dating someone, but he still hasn't said anything. Something doesn't feel right. Do you remember Wendy? I've talked about her with you too," Simona said.
Caleb nodded. "Yeah, I remember."
