Finn felt relieved that his son finally called him.
But he frowned when he picked up his phone and saw the caller ID on the screen.
"Why are you staring at your phone and not answering the call?" Miriam, noticing Finn's hesitation, asked with some confusion.
Finn frowned and said, "It's not them. It's Hendrix Watts."
"Hendrix? Why is he calling you? There's so much going on at the company recently and neither of us has been there. What's he calling you for instead of focusing on work?" Miriam frowned as well.
They paid him a million annually. How could it be that he couldn't manage the company? It seemed like Hendrix wasn't very capable. The million-dollar salary was probably too much for him.
Annoyed, Finn answered the phone and asked bluntly, "It's so late. What is it?"
"Mr. Sullivan, have you checked the trending topics?" Hendrix asked urgently.
Finn's frown deepened. "Since when do you have the time to pay attention to this nonsense?"
"It wasn't me. It was the other employees who saw them," Hendrix explained anxiously.
But Finn didn't want to hear it. "Don't pay too much attention to what's trending online. Tell them not to focus on these things. Even if they see it, they shouldn't post any comments online."
His and Miriam's identities weren't suited to appear in many trending news stories, but they were willing to risk it for Ruth Sullivan. However, that didn't mean their employees had any right to criticize them.
Well, unless those employees didn't want their jobs anymore.
