Mated To Luna novel Chapter 9

Deluna Hansen.

Ever since I spent the first night here, I knew he didn't really like me but I never thought he would be so furious as to poison my breakfast. And now, I'm beginning to wonder why he has to use the wolfsbane. You aren't going to tell me he knows about me not being human? No. Trying to think he knows about me being a wolf is just as stupid as it sounds. My mate wouldn't turn foolish and cruel to inform another human that I ain't one of them. Or you wouldn't tell me that he's just as sensible and smart as my mate so it shouldn't be a wonder if he knows I'm a wolf. Now, that's even more of a crap. But putting that asides,I just found out (that) that buddy would do anything just to get rid of me. Even commit murder. And he's quite the smart type. That is to tell me I don't have to trust him with anything, not even with my mate. But this_his murdering attempt_ is remaining a secret between him and I. Forever.

I sigh and stand on my feet, abandoning the 'should've been great' meal. I leave the dining and go back to the kitchen. When I enter, Belvedere is not in anymore and there's only Elio, and Mary who doesn't have the headphone on again. "You finished breakfast already?" Mary exclaims, not hiding her bewildered look. Oh, damn, I might be a werewolf but I'm sure not a beast to have finished a meal within five minutes! "No, I lost appetite. Actually, it stinks to me," I say, flipping my gaze to the monster's face and I can see he's trying to hide his anxiety and fear. I hate him, already! But when I flick my gaze back to Mary, I see that hurt look on her... My words! So doing a rethink and trying to appreciate the old nonne's effort, I fake a smile and reconstruct my words, "Not precisely the food, actually. The problem's with me."

"Sick?" Worry? How sweet! It's been long I received such motherly care, I'd be more used to Zia's cute pestering over the years. "I would get drugs to use, you don't have to worry. And aye, Summer told me she would be needing your presence with her in the living room, you don't mind."

The moment she's out, I turn to the monster in the human's skin who now has his attention on the tip of the wine glass. Glaring at him only makes me hate him the more and to think, I had to miss a sweet breakfast because of him... Fuck, I'm surely the nicest to let that go. Well, I'm just going to pass a threat. Not a threat. I'm just going to drop some words and let him know 'agama' eyes on him. I clear my throat and stride to the empty stool that sits opposite him. He still doesn't act like he's aware of my presence and I bet he's desperately wishing I can start dying already.

"You don't wonder why the food stinks to me, do you?" He throws me a coup d'oeil and glares down back at the glass. Of course, he's nettled by my presence. And even more roiled by this! But I ain't gon' leave without dropping him a message. My lips kink in a smile and I tug at his arm, "Of course, you know the answer! We both know and you don't have to guess, I'm not going to be dead in the next twenty years even." He hesitates and cowers at my words but still find it hard to look up. So I just laugh and slip away after slapping his shoulder.
