Marrying the Man in the Dark (Damien and Cherise) novel Chapter 1192

Dark Secrets of the Blind Husband
Chapter 1192 Secrets and Sacrifices
The woman leaped away from him as if electrified and spun around instantly; her face flushed crimson. Her teeth clenched tightly as she proclaimed, "I'm going to check on Lucy!"

And without another word, she swiftly darted away.

Colin stood slouched in the dimly lit corridor; his shoulders weighed down with a palpable sense of disappointment settling in.

Despite his lack of interest in Mandy, the moment they embraced haunted Colin, leaving him sad.

Was he that unattractive?

Mandy sat on the edge of Lucy's neatly made bed, clutching her phone tightly.

She flicked between Lennon's chat, Cherise's, and Damien's, repeatedly editing and deleting messages.

She sat in turmoil, torn between the urge to scold Lennon, the need to confide in Cherise, and the hope that Damien would confront Lennon.

Yet, as she glanced at the clock striking eleven, she reluctantly abandoned her plans.

"Mandy," a faint voice whispered into her ear.

Mandy looked up, startled, and exclaimed, "Lucy! You're awake!"

She sprang to her feet, ready to rush for help, but Lucy interrupted with a wave.

As Mandy gazed at Lucy through tears, the frail woman on the bed mustered a feeble smile and admitted, "I can't hide it anymore."

Mandy's tears cascaded down her cheeks in disbelief. "You've known all along?"

Lucy nodded weakly, her voice barely above a whisper. "Didn't you remember? I'm in medical school."

Mandy's emotions surged, a whirlwind of anger and anguish. "A medical student! Why did you neglect yourself? Why didn't you seek help sooner?"

"Cirrhosis isn't something that happens overnight," Lucy murmured.

"I fell into addiction and couldn't escape," she confessed, her eyes reflecting a deep inner struggle. "The pain... it's too much. Drinking was the only relief."
