In her diary, she had once penned, 'I dislike Cherise's wedding gown. I like dresses with lengthy, flowing trains adorned with a myriad of bows and sparkling diamonds. My wedding gown must be dazzling!'
Lennon winced as the glittering embellishments adorning the woman's gown before him hurt his eyes. He felt it was too glaring. At the end of the day, she had persisted in wearing the type of dress she adored. Yet, he wasn't the man accompanying her at the altar.
The Gray family and the priest had displeased expressions as they looked at the intruder. The priest leveled a cold stare at Lennon, "Sir, may I inquire as to your objection to their union?"
"Because she's the mother of my child," Lennon sneered, his gaze flickering towards Lucy's figure. "To clarify, I don't object to her getting married, but I vehemently oppose her taking my child and marrying another man."
Cherise's heart seized at Lennon's revelation. How could he... How could Lennon... How could he possibly know... Instinctively, she looked up into Damien's eyes.
Wrinkling his brow, Damien subconsciously met Cherise's gaze and subtly shook his head. "I haven't investigated Alexis and Lennon's relationship, nor have I spoken out of turn," he reassured her earnestly. "I harbored suspicions, but since you said nothing about it, I refrained from probing further." His words were sincere. But neither she nor Damien had breathed a word, so how on earth could Lennon be privy to the fact that Alexis was...
