Bryce paused, a flicker of surprise crossing his brow.

"What are you doing here?" Florence's expression shifted instantly as she sized up Whitney, letting out a dismissive snort. "You're nothing but a stray. Hey, someone explain how she got in here. Mr. Liam, how could you let just anyone waltz into Inko Group?"

The shareholder who had ushered them in promptly turned to the secretary at the entrance for answers.

Yet no one seemed to know how this unfamiliar woman had found her way into the boardroom.

Mr. Liam finally looked apologetically at Florence. "I truly have no clue how this lady got in."

Whitney chuckled softly, revealing her face to the room. "How did I get in? Well, funny story. The Inko Group security guard saw my face and must have thought Ms. Tennyson decided to show up for work, so they just let me through."

She turned fully towards them, her words piquing everyone's curiosity.

Mr. Liam finally took a good look at her face, and not just him—the other directors, especially those who had seen Parisa in recent days, were momentarily taken aback. "She looks quite a bit like Ms. Tennyson, doesn't she?"

Someone in the crowd voiced the thought aloud.

Florence's eyes narrowed slightly, her voice rising with indignation. "Impossible! In front of me, Ms. Tennyson's own daughter, you dare suggest such nonsense? Whitney, did you get plastic surgery to make such insinuations? My mother has just passed, and her memory isn't even cold yet, and here you are, shamelessly eyeing her estate!"
