Xavier forced himself to relax his expression and said, "Just wait patiently in your room. The police will take care of everything."

Xyla took a step forward and grabbed his sleeve. "Sarah… She'll definitely come back, right? She's the only family I have left in this world. Can you please help her?"

Tears streamed down her face, and she gasped for breath with every word she sobbed out. Her breathing started becoming more erratic.

Xavier did his best to comfort her. "Don't worry, Xyla. Sarah will come back. I'll help her."

"Really?"

Xyla's gasping didn't subside. She opened her mouth wide and sucked in deep breaths. She moved her hand from Xavier's sleeve to fist the fabric above his heart.

"I knew it. You wouldn't abandon Sarah…"

Her knees buckled, and she collapsed like a ragdoll to the ground. Xavier quickly carried her to the nurses' station. He yelled for a doctor to help her.

The peaceful atmosphere of the hospital was instantly thrown into chaos.

Lily's heart was troubled when she heard Xavier's promise to Xyla to help Sarah. Her emotions turned even more turbulent after hearing Xavier's footsteps fading into the distance as he carried Xyla away.
