Timothy immediately reported to Xavier that Bruce had gone looking for Lily. 

“How many people are watching over Lily?” Navier asked, his deep voice calm but tense 

“Two,” Timothy replied. 

He snapped a contract shut and threw it onto the table with a sharp thud. “Fire them.” 

Timothy was puzzled. 

Did we hire them to watch a show?” Xavier’s temper began to rise 

He had assigned people to keep an eye on things precisely to prevent Bruce from approaching Lily. And what happened? Terence beat him to it and saved her instead. 

Timothy had no defense. The men stationed outside noticed Bruce’s approach and immediately informed him. 

But since Xavier was in a meeting, they hesitated to interrupt. That brief delay was enough for Terence to act first 

He thought that since it was already late, he might as well delay the report a little longer. As a result, he ended up losing out entirely. 

“Where’s Lily now? Kavier asked again. 

“She’s having a meal with the Devereux family” Timothy replied. 

Xander’s eyes narrowed sharply. “With the Devereux family? 

“Yes. Besides Mr. Devereux, Mrs Devereux Senior and Ms. Devereux are also there,” Timothy reported truthfully. 

Great Not only had she grown close to Terence, but she was also mingling with his entire family. Xavier’s jaw tightened, his side profilesharp and rigid as anger flared. Suddenly, there was a knock on the officedoor. Sarah peeked in. “Xavier, do you have time for lunch today? Xyla has been asking to have lunch with you.”

Timothy instinctively nodded and turned to leave but paused midway. “Where should I make the reservation?” 

Sensing that something was off in the atmosphere, she glanced between Xavier and Timothy. “I’ll take care of it.” 

“Let him handle it, Xavier interrupted. “You can choose wherever you like.” 

“Got it!” Timothy quickly left, confirming the restaurant where Lily was dining with the Devereux family and making a reservation. 

Half an hour later, in a private room in the restaurant, with Maryanne smoothing things over, Marika no longer insisted that Lily sign the design contract 

“Next time you’re free, come by the house for a meal I remember you liked my garlic crab. I’ll cook it for you,” Marika said warmly.
