Chapter 337
The tone and attitude that seemed entirely focused on helping Lily were hard to refuse. It was hard to believe that Xavier didn’t know Landon’s invitation was about the renovation.
—
She couldn’t understand if Xavier wanted nothing to do with her, then why had he agreed to the face–to–face meeting? Why was he so persistent!
Anything related to Xavier never went smoothly. But since her work was in Landon’s hands, Lily had no choice but to attend.
After thinking it over, she devised a compromise and made a phonecall..
Golden Cove Hotel, located in the heart of Jadeford, was the city’s largest and most luxurious hotel. A meal here could easily cost six figures.
Landon had put a lot of effort into securing this meeting with Xaver. The moment Xavier agreed to meet, it meant there was hope! As long as Lily cooperated well, there shouldn’t be any surprises.
At 6:30pm. Xavier arrived as agreed. His deep blue coat carried the chill of late winter, his features radiating an innate air of aloofness.
A flash of displeasure crossed his face when he saw only Landon in the private room.
“Mr. Fulton!” Landon jumped to his teet and walked toward the door with a wide smile, extending both hands in greeting.
But as he got closer to Xavier, the coldness from Xavier made him stop in his tracks, his heart tightening with unease.
“Mr.Ashford Timothy smiled. “No need for formalities, please, take a seat.”
Landon quickly waved his hands. “No, no, Mr. Snyder. You’re too kind. Mr. Fulton, please, you first!
Xavier removed his coat, and someone immediately took it and hung it up. He sat at the head of the table, adjusting his sleeves and tie in silence.
Timothy quietly asked, “Mr. Ashford, are you handling the renovation at Glenview Villa alone?”
Landon glanced at Xavier, then at Timothy, quickly piecing things together. “Of course not. Please understand, Mr. Fulton. Lily is stuck in traffic. Once she arrives, I’ll make sure she downs a couple of shots to pay for it!”
“Mr. Ashford, please take a seat” Traffic delays were a common excuse for tardiness, and Timothy wasn’t sure if it was true.
But seeing that Xavier remained silent, he invited Landon to sit Landon had reserved a large private room with a table big enough for more than 20 people.
He sat across from Xavier, with one seat between them. He then signaled for the water to come over and take their order.
The water brought the menu and, noticing Landon’s gesture, handed it to Xavier at the head of the table.
