Her Heart Her Terms (Lily and Xavier) novel Chapter 317

Sarah's words didn't go unnoticed by Xavier. Between Lily and Sarah, one of them was clearly hiding something. But without solid proof, Xavier wasn't about to make rash moves based on their words.

When the media broke the news of his marriage, it took less than half an hour for everyone to know. However, Lily didn't catch wind of it until three hours later when she got a call from Maryanne.

"What's going on? You've been married for two years and haven't even been given a title. Now, you're getting divorced, and it's all going public?"

It was only then that Lily saw the news. She read it carefully and concluded, "It must have been Grandma saying something out of frustration. Xavier hasn't said a word about it."

Perhaps Edith had been so upset that she blurted it out.

Although this indirectly confirmed that Xavier was married, as long as he didn't officially acknowledge it, the reporters couldn't do anything.

Maryanne clicked her tongue. "What terrible timing, especially during the holidays. It's just making things worse for them."

"What's the point?" Lily replied calmly. "Whether the marriage is exposed or not, it won't change the fact that we're getting a divorce."

She was confident that the Fulton family understood the situation and wouldn't actually make it public.

"Are you spending the New Year with Hayden at the rental house? It's a holiday, and you're not even going back to the Fulton Manor? You can't keep hiding your divorce for much longer."

Maryanne had wanted to invite them to her place for the holiday, but she was worried about how she'd explain things to Hayden.

Lily sniffled and replied nonchalantly, "Hayden went back to the Joyner residence."

"Wait… They took him back? What about you?" Maryanne was stunned.

Not wanting to worry Hayden, Lily kept her divorce from Xavier a secret, even hiding that she had fallen out with her parents.

So when the Joyner family picked up Hayden, they never asked her to join, clearly showing they had no intention of bringing her back into the fold.

Maryanne silently complained. She knew voicing it would hurt Lily.
