The phone rang again as Terence got into the car and answered it.
“Weren’t we supposed to go on a blind date tonight? Why did you stand the woman up?” Richard’s voice was stem, and his frustration was palpable even through

Terence fastened his seatbelt, his voice calm and cool. “Iludworkto handle. And I didn’t stand her up. Tealled her in advance,”
Richard wasn’t convinced. “You told her half an hour before the date that you weren’t coming. How is that not standing her up?”
“I’m just not interested in blind dates,” Terence said bluntly, “With the year–end approaching, work’s hectic. Please stop arranging these things for me.”
“Are you not interested in blind dates, or do you have someone in your heart?” Richard’s words hit the mark, as he had already noticed something.
“Suddenly going abroad and then coming back–it’s probably for a woman. What? Her family background isn’t good, and she’s not from our circle?
“At least bring her home so your mother and can meet her. We’re open–minded. We don’t demand a perfect match.”

Without absolute certainty, he had to keep the years of feelings buried deep inside to protect Lily.
Richard was stunned for a few seconds, unable to fathom just how open–minded they had to be. Was Terence’s crush a disabled person? Was she extremely ugly! Or was there some other flaw?
“It’s getting late. You should rest early.” Terence ended the conversation, hanging up the phone.
As Maryanne mentioned, the so–called conflict between him and Richard was clearly caused by Richard’s pressuring him to marry.
The dramatic scenes were enough to show just how andous Richard and Marika were.
If he didn’t act soon and kept rejecting their arrangements, they would stop forcing blind dates and start directly pushing for a marriage. Time was running out for him.
He looked up at the faint light on the top floor, his eyes carrying a faint sadness.
After Terence left, the questions be left behind left Lily feeling unsettled. She thought about it for a while, unsure of how to choose, and decided to stop thinking about it.
After all, it was an unlikely possibility, and there was no need to worry about it.
Her days passed in a steady routine–eight hours at work and evenings spent with Maryanne. Life became so fulfilling that the only time she thought about Xavier was late at night when she would occasionally reflect on him.
But it was just a fleeting thought, a ripple across her calm heart–nothing more.
On Saturday, she went to the company to work overtime, as the company policy allowed for only one day off a week
She had barely sat down when she heard footsteps at the door and instinctively stood up. Before she could see who it was, she was knocked back into her chair by the hurriedly passing Terry.
“Hello, Ladies. Are you here to check out some renovations? Which house is it for?” he greeted them warmly.
