From Sneers to Cheers: Anthea’s Ascent (Anthea ) novel Chapter 484

Nanson was severely injured, with blood streaming down his forehead. At this moment, he had already slipped into unconsciousness.

Sherman immediately ordered the bodyguards to carry Nanson to the car. "Take us to the nearest hospital," he instructed the driver in the front seat.

"Understood," the driver responded.

The car sped through the streets, arriving at the hospital in no time.

...

When Nanson finally regained consciousness, his nostrils were filled with the sharp scent of antiseptic, and his vision was a blur of white. His throat felt painfully parched, as if it were on fire.

A figure sat by his bedside.

In one hand, the figure held a rosary, while the other hand was gently flipping through a book titled *The Scripture of Serenity*. With each turn of the page, a faint, pleasant aroma of sandalwood wafted through the air.

Where was he?

Disoriented, Nanson rubbed his temples. He recalled that last night, after finalizing a deal with a client, he was on his way home. It was late, and he hadn’t expected any trouble. But out of nowhere, he was ambushed by a group of thugs in Pellonia.

His head had taken a serious blow. Just as he thought he might die on the streets, a bright light appeared, and then everything went dark.

So... someone had rescued him?

Nanson furrowed his brow. If he remembered correctly, that must have been what happened. But who was his savior?

Just then, the man sitting by the bed put down the book and looked over with concern. "Mr. Yeager, you're awake. How are you feeling? Would you like some water?"

Was that... Sherman?

So, Sherman was the one who saved him?

"I..." Nanson started, still processing, when Sherman offered him a spoonful of water.

Instinctively, Nanson opened his mouth to receive it. The cool water soothed his burning throat, like rain falling on parched earth—utterly refreshing.
