Marina stared at him, "Swear to me right now that you only love her and don't drag me into this mess!"
Carson was shell-shocked.
He knew he was quite a womanizer and he never expected Marina to stick with him through thick and thin, but her cold-hearted betrayal still took him by surprise. They used to get along pretty well; he even thought she had a bit of a crush on him!
Carson scoffed, turning to Cicely, "Alright, I don't like her, I'll break up with her, and we can start over, okay? Can you please put down that bomb?"
"Are you for real?" There was a glimmer of hope in Cicely's eyes.
"He's telling the truth!" Marina chimed in quickly, "He always mentioned you when he was with me, saying you're the only woman he's ever truly loved, and that he was just forced to be with me by his family!"
Carson looked at Marina in disbelief.
A twisted smile appeared on Cicely's face, her blood-stained face making her look even more menacing. She stared at Carson with a crazed look in her eyes, grinning from ear to ear, "I knew you still loved me!"
"I do love you!" Carson edged closer carefully, "Can you please put down the bomb now?"
Cicely shook her head abruptly, "No. If I do, you'll be forced to marry her again. Kill her, kill her now, then I'll believe you!"
Marina's eyes widened in disbelief, she retorted innocently, "I've already told you I have nothing to do with this, could you chill for a second, Cicely?"
Carson shot a cold, mocking glance at Marina, seemingly finding her current predicament amusing.
"Go on, kill her!" Cicely tossed the knife at Carson's feet.
Carson looked down at the knife but made no move to pick it up.
