Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 626

Just before getting off work, Emily got a call from Chris, inviting her out to dinner after work.

Chris had asked her out three times in a row, and Emily had declined each time before. Today, however, she didn't directly refuse the invitation. Instead, she thought about it for a moment and agreed, and told Chris to pick her up after work.

It kept raining, with the light, unceasing drizzle making the evening dreary.

Emily had to work an extra half hour, so by the time she left the office building, it was already dark. Chris arrived in his car, saw her coming out, and immediately grabbed an umbrella to greet her.

Not far away, Charlie was sitting in his car, watching Emily get into Chris's car, his usually warm eyes now cold as the sudden chill in the air.

Perhaps due to the rain, the entire J City seemed exceptionally tranquil.

The weather was unpleasant, so the film crew finished work early. Estelle had returned to the Royal Mansion quite a while ago, intending to have a barbecue dinner with Emily, only to find out that Emily had gone out on a date.

Estelle actually supported the idea of Emily and Chris being together. In her opinion, Chris came from a good family, looked great, and would make a good match for Emily.

Of course, Charlie was a great option as well, but he was just too much of a player!

Traffic was terrible that night, and it was nearly ten o'clock by the time Emily got home. As she opened the door and stepped in, she paused. The living room floor lamp was on, and a tall figure stood next to the balcony.

She was a bit surprised, thinking that Charlie would be with his girlfriend tonight, especially after seeing their intimacy during the day.

Charlie was leaning on the railing and smoking, the cigarette's glow flickering in the misty rain.

He turned around when he heard Emily and calmly said, "You're back?"

Remembering the scene she had witnessed in his office earlier that day, Emily felt a bit uneasy and awkward. "I'm going to my room," she said.

"What's the rush?" Charlie, his figure shrouded in darkness, chuckled. "Come over here."

Emily put down her bag and slowly walked over to the balcony. As she approached, she could smell the strong scent of alcohol on him.
