Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1749

"Let's cross that bridge when we come to it. No worries!" Bard reassured.

Emily felt even guiltier seeing how understanding the company's manager was, "I work during the day, but I could come by at night to care for my dad."

"I heard you have a daughter, just take good care of her. We've hired a full-time nursing worker, so you won't have to worry about a thing. Shawn got injured on our company's watch, and we'll take responsibility!"

Their gracious attitude left Emily affected.

A spark of intrigue lit up in Magdalen's eyes as she shared a meaningful glance with Estelle.

It was getting dark. Since the nursing worker was there to attend to Shawn, Estelle offered to drive Emily home.

It was already dark when they left the hospital. Estelle fetched her car and they left.

Moments after Estelle's car pulled away, a Rolls-Royce parked across the street also started to move.

While Estelle drove, Magdalen sat with Emily in the back, holding her hand, "Don't worry. These guys seem reasonable. Whatever we need to compensate, we will. With Ella and me around, there won’t be any problem!"

Emily leaned against Magdalen's shoulder, closing her eyes, "Magdalen, I wouldn't have made it through today without you and Estelle."

Magdalen patted her head, "You were quite the lioness when you confronted your mother. So brave!"

Emily's eyes filled with sarcasm, "Is this your first time seeing a family fight to this extent over money?"

Magdalen raised an eyebrow, "Even the wealthy can scheme against each other for gain, even to the point of fratricide. It's human nature, Emily. You shouldn't feel bad. You should feel lucky that despite everything you've been through, you still have a pure heart."

Emily, who had been feeling miserable, was touched by Magdalen's comfort.

What she was most grateful for was meeting friends like Estelle and Magdalen.

On the way, Estelle received a call from Jonathan. She told him she was on the road and suggested he have dinner by himself as she would be spending the night at Emily's.
