Estelle settled into a chair, and Blythe immediately twisted open a bottle of water and handed it to her.
"Thanks!" Estelle took a sip before saying, "What do you expect from Mr. Tucker? Stand up against the Crawleys to defend me? What if he can't handle the fallout and the whole crew gets involved? He's in a position of authority. It's right for him to think about the entire production crew. That's why I never blamed him. I was the one who suggested going back home for a few days."
Blythe gave Estelle a thumbs-up, "Estelle, you've got my respect for that!"
Craig frowned, "I just find the whole situation infuriating!"
"What's there to be upset about?" Blythe tossed the water bottle to Craig, "Even Antonia was sent packing back to B City by Estelle. Do you realize what an accomplishment this is? The whole crew feels victorious standing with Estelle, where's the frustration? Besides,"
Blythe lowered her voice and wore a mysterious expression, "The day when Estelle was cyberbullied, Mr. Tucker seemed to have created several anonymous accounts to defend Estelle online. I saw it when I delivered something to his office. He had written a lengthy text praising Estelle's dedication and competence. So, deep down, Mr. Tucker is on Estelle's side. He just doesn't want to offend the Crawleys."
Craig grunted in approval, "That's more like it."
"Look at you, no less petty than a big director!" Blythe taunted.
"Who are you talking about?" Craig retorted, "You didn't seem to think I was petty when you were enjoying the ice cream I bought yesterday. You spent over three dollars on a single ice cream. That's as much as I spend on a meal!"
"I just picked one at random. Who knew it would be so expensive?"
Sitting on the wicker chair, Estelle watched them bicker. During her absence, the two seemed to have gotten significantly closer. Was this a friendship forged over shared meals?
A sudden thought of Gwen crossed her mind. Craig and Gwen used to tease each other like this, too. Who would've thought their friendship would eventually become unrecognizable?
Estelle was lost in thought when her phone vibrated. It was a call from Mr. Tucker.
After finishing the call, she stood up, "You guys have worked hard while I was gone. I'll treat you to lunch. But first, Mr. Tucker wants to see me."
