Magdalen twirled her fingers around the man's tie, gazing up at him with a playful smile. "And here I thought you'd never ask."
Morrison leaned in closer, his voice laced with a hint of danger. "Magdalen, I didn't ask because I trust you. Don't push your luck!"
Magdalen chuckled. "You thought I was doing this on purpose? Don't flatter yourself!"
Morrison smirked, planting a gentle kiss on her eyelid before scooping her up in his arms and heading upstairs.
Meanwhile, Kent pulled the car into the residential complex and parked in front of Sunset Ridge.
Charlie helped Kya out of the car, handing her over to Emily with a distant demeanor. "Thanks, Mr. James."
"No problem," Charlie replied nonchalantly. He turned to look at Kya, "Go with your mom, sweetheart. I will come visit another day."
Kya frowned, "Aren't you coming home with us, Uncle Charlie? I don't like Mom's stories. I prefer yours."
Charlie remained silent, glancing over at Emily.
Emily spoke up quickly, "Uncle Charlie has other things to do, sweetie. No whining!"
Kya pouted and looked down.
Emily said her goodbyes to Charlie, her tone polite, and began to walk towards the building with Kya.
Leaning against the car, Charlie watched as Kya kept looking back at him. A surge of unexpressed anger welled up inside him, yet he had to maintain a gentle facade for Kya's sake.
In his nearly three decades of life, he'd never been so infuriated by a woman. His head was buzzing, and his heart ached!
On Monday morning, Emily received a call from Wilson.
