Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1586

Once Emily got in the car, she insisted again on paying.

Wilson chuckled, "You think I'm messing with you? I just bought you a bunch of flowers and you're trying to pay me. No need for all this formality between us!"

Emily said bluntly, "If we were still college buddies, sure, I wouldn't pay. But now, we're business partners. I think it's important to maintain some basic boundaries."

"Don't worry," Wilson said, "whether it’s flowers, cars or houses, I wouldn't use these things to gain an advantage in our business. Plus, I trust your morals. You wouldn't be swayed by money, right? So, we're all above board here, nothing to fret about!"

"I must pay!" Emily insisted, taking out her phone to transfer $100 to him.

Wilson was taken aback. He glanced at his phone and laughed, "That's way too much."

"Consider the rest a thank you," Emily said with a clear-eyed smile.

"No, I can't take your money!" Wilson laughed, "No more transfers. I'll find a chance to treat you to a meal."

Emily simply smiled without responding.

By the time they reached the 9th Mansion, dusk had fallen. A girl was waiting for them at the entrance.

Emily hurried over, her eyes sparkling and dimples showing, "Betty!"

Betty, her hair in a bun and dressed in a soft blue dress, looked absolutely elegant.

"Emily!" Betty greeted her with a smile.

Emily rushed up to hug her, then handed over the flowers, "Sorry, I haven't caught up with you since I got back."

Betty smiled gently, "No problem. Didn't I come back to see you?"

Wilson strolled over and asked, "Did everyone else arrive?"

"Dave and Selina are already here. I just couldn't wait to see Emily, so I came out to welcome you guys," Betty held the flowers and turned to Wilson, "Emily, thank you for the flowers! Wilson, where's yours?"
