Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1579

"Sup?" Emily asked, her face expressionless.

Upon hearing Emily's icy tone, Gina hesitated for a moment before saying, "Did your dad show up at your place?"

Emily scoffed, "Wasn't it you who sent him to me?"

Gina quickly replied, "Your sister-in-law is pregnant. If she found out your father's a gambler, it would definitely affect her health."

Emily couldn't be bothered to expose Gina's lie, she just said coldly, "So, you care about your daughter-in-law, your eldest son, but I don't deserve any concern, right?"

Gina rushed to explain, "The other day, your father was so persistent. I had no choice but to send him your way. You could have kicked him out! With all the crap he's pulled, no one would blame you if you did."

Emily's voice suddenly choked, "How can I kick him out? Am I supposed to leave him homeless? You must've known I'd go soft, that I wouldn't have the heart to send him away, right? Yeah, I'm too soft-hearted, always used and discarded by you. I still care about family ties and call you 'mother'!"

Gina didn't speak for a while, her voice cold when she finally did, "Emily, it's not as simple as you think. Your father has always doted on you, even more than your brother. So, it's only right that you take care of him. And don't blame me, I've never favored you or Elliott over the other. I'd split a piece of candy in half for each of you. But now I'm old, helpless, and I can only care for one. You'll understand the helplessness of a mother if you ever have two children."

"I don't understand!" Emily's tears were surging, her voice barely above a whisper, "Even if I have two children, I'll love them equally. If I can't, I'd rather only have one child!"

"Emily, things are always easier said than done. I hope you understand me!"
