Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1552

"I asked you what the hell Waters said, and you didn't spill the beans, it's kind of pissing me off!" Charlie gently bit her earlobe.

Every time he saw her being so serious, he couldn't help but want to tease her. It was a temptation he had been resisting for a long time!

Emily bit her lip. "She asked me if you have a girlfriend, how am I supposed to answer?"

Charlie paused, tilting his head slightly to look at her. "You don't know how to answer? You don't know if I have a girlfriend?"

Emily leaned back, her bright eyes fixed on him. "Should I have told her that Mr. James' girlfriend is actually me? The very me you're looking at right now?"

Charlie nodded seriously. "What's wrong with that answer? Aren't you always honest?"

Emily couldn't hold back. "If I said that, she would dig into all my information and come up with a hundred reasons why I'm not good enough for you!"

Charlie squinted at her. "Emily, do you really care what others think? Do you have low self-esteem?"

Emily avoided his gaze, looking down. "I'm not insecure, I just don't want to cause trouble for myself and Kya!"

Charlie wanted to protect her and Kya too. He knew she was right, but it still made him feel uneasy. He smiled slightly. "Why don't you give it a shot? See if I can protect you and Kya?"

Emily replied, "I don't want to put Kya at risk because of my own selfishness!"

Charlie pulled her into his arms, whispering, "So you still don't trust me!"

Emily didn't respond.

Neither of them seemed to want to continue the conversation. After a moment of silence, Charlie sat her down on a chair, lightly massaging her waist. "Does it hurt?"

He might have been a little too rough earlier, causing her to hit her waist against the table. He felt a bit regretful and sorry.

Emily shook her head and got up from his arms. "The client is waiting for you, you should go now!"
