Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1477

"Really?" Norah suddenly felt a twinge in her chest, and her throat tightened as she dropped her gaze. "But you're different from Zachary and the others in my heart."

Xavier blinked in surprise as he looked at the girl in front of him. His heart sank, and after a long pause, he finally spoke. "Norah, you're still young. You might mistake your reliance on men for other feelings."

Norah suddenly looked up at him, frowning. "I have a dad and uncles. I'm not some ignorant girl who lacks fatherly love!"

A cold, dry feeling rose in Xavier's eyes. "But I'm nine years older than you; I could be your uncle. This is ridiculous!"

Norah's face fell, and she asked quietly, "Do you prefer mature women?"

Xavier nodded. "Yes, I'm not interested in young girls."

Suddenly, Norah's face turned pale, and she looked embarrassed and ashamed. "I'm sorry, just pretend I never said anything."

Xavier took a deep breath. "The guy who has a crush on you is great. You guys are a better match. You should consider it."

Norah couldn't stand it anymore, and she nodded haphazardly. "I understand; I'll consider it."

She looked quite flustered. "I'm going to help Zachary wash the vegetables. Just forget what I just said; I won't bring it up again." She practically bolted after she said that.

Xavier watched her retreating figure, feeling a sudden, inexplicable irritation. This was absurd!

Zachary cooked a full table of dishes. When it got dark, everyone gathered around. Some opened wine, and some served dishes; it was a lively scene.

Norah intentionally sat far away from Xavier. Apart from that, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. She joked with Zachary and Damian, talking about funny incidents at school, which made everyone laugh. However, she only joked with them and didn't look at Xavier once.
