The other folks on the scene started to talk them down.

"Ian, cool your jets."

"Mr. Sanders, don't pay him any mind."

Ian was pissed off, but thinking of the woman in his arms, his anger was cut in half. What was Beck to him anyway?

If this guy had indeed won Penny's heart, then she should be letting him come to her rescue right now.

But she wasn't, so Ian clammed up, picked up a wine glass from the table, and took a swig.

Beck's gaze was now on Maja, but the lighting in the box was too dim for him to make out her features. Still, he could sense she had a decent vibe.

He felt even more indignant for Penny. Was Ian the type to fall for a woman at the drop of a hat?

"If Mr. Raymond doesn't fancy Penny, he should let her go sooner rather than later. Stop pretending that you care about her."

The room fell silent at these words.

Ian pushed Maja's hat down, gently set her aside, and stood up.

Samuel quickly stepped in between them, seeing the two about to squabble again.

"Cut it out, you two. If there's any issue, why not sit down and hash it out?"

Seeing Samuel, Ian grew even more incensed.

"Playing the good guy again, are you? I bet you're secretly hoping we'll throw down and then you can snatch up whatever you want."

What Ian said was harsh!

Samuel hadn't expected to be dragged into this, even though he did harbor such thoughts.

He took a deep breath, "Mr. Raymond, everyone likes beautiful things."

Ian's face immediately darkened, and his gaze towards Samuel turned fierce.

"Is that so? Too bad, the beauty doesn't like you."

Everyone could tell that by "beauty," he was referring to Penny.

Samuel indeed had a thing for Maja. He liked her and had been waiting for her to approach him. But now that Ian had a waitress by his side, he wasn't in any position to intervene.

"How do you know Penny doesn't like me? If I try harder, I could even marry her. That would be better than her worthless ex-husband."

Samuel knew that Ian was still in the dark about the truth, so he deliberately made these sarcastic remarks.

"And Ian, do you dare to marry Penny? Would the Raymond family approve? But I could. My dad's gone. There's no one to stop me."

Everyone couldn't help but laugh, and this guy really didn't mince words.

Ian scoffed, "Penny won't marry you because you're just like your dad."

Everyone knew how Daniel had died. Daniel had been caught red-handed. Ian was practically calling Samuel a bad guy.

Samuel threw a punch at Ian.

Beck, standing behind him, was stunned. What was Samuel here for?

Ian dodged the punch and immediately retaliated with a kick.

Samuel was sent reeling backward, crashing into Beck.
