She quickly got out of bed, freshened up, and went downstairs for breakfast.

As she was heading out, her car was blocked by two others as soon as she reached the city center intersection.

A knock on her car window interrupted her thoughts. She rolled down the window and was greeted by Carl.

Carl had given her a bottle of pills before, intended to be used against Ian. Even though she had received 30 million in funding, she had only contacted Carl once. It seemed he couldn't wait any longer.

"Mr. Raymond." Maja greeted him with a smile first.

Carl replied coldly, "Penny, you haven't forgotten what I told you, right?"

"How could I forget? But I've been sick recently. I'll go find Ian later and do as you instructed."

Carl narrowed his eyes. He had no qualms about threatening this woman's family.

"Penny, if you delay any longer, I can't promise what I'll do to your family."

Maja didn't reply, even though she didn't know where her family was.

Her relatives in Crystalbrook Valley had already met with tragedy. The bodies of her aunt and uncle were still unattended to, and their ashes were still in the hospital.

Seeing her silence, Carl thought she was scared and sneered.
