Simon thought that Janice's accident was somehow connected to Heidi.
Edward walked down the steps and told the bodyguards, "Take Heidi and Amelia to Stanmore Drive."
Edward owned a villa on Stanmore Drive, which served as his other residence.
Without a word, the bodyguards lifted the unconscious Amelia while Heidi's screams and struggles did nothing to stop them.
Heidi shouted all the way, "It wasn't me! It was all Amelia! You can't do this—it's illegal!"
One of the bodyguards glanced at her. "You've known Mr. Moore since childhood. You have a murder suspect around you, so he's bringing you to his place for your safety. You should be grateful, Ms. Ryan."
"Y-You—" Heidi stammered. She was left speechless. She just hoped Gregory and Emma would find her soon.
Everything that happened was completely unexpected. Heidi had helped Amelia find a driver but never thought she would actually have the guts to commit murder, let alone act so quickly.
Heidi had been planning to find a chance to ruin Janice's hand and then blame it on Amelia. She never expected Amelia to betray her so easily. What a backstabbing coward.
…
After bringing Heidi and Amelia to the villa on Stanmore Drive, Edward stayed inside. The first floor of the villa was completely dark, with only the faint glow of distant buildings visible outside.
Four bodyguards stood watch at the door, and two more stood guard outside. There was no way for Heidi and Amelia to escape.
Amelia slowly regained consciousness. When she saw Edward, she instinctively shrank back, huddling against the wall in silence.
Edward was reading a message from Matilda. He didn't dare listen to the voice message, so he read the text instead.
Matilda told him that Janice's condition had stabilized for the time being, but she still needed further observation.
Edward leaned against the glass, letting out a sigh of relief. Across from the villa, Greenfield City Medical Center stood in the distance. He could see it clearly. Now that Janice was stable, he could finally go to see her.
He turned to find Heidi opening her mouth, about to speak. But he walked past her without a word and left.
A few of the bodyguards stayed there, their eyes fixed on Amelia and Heidi, silent and unmoving.
…
The next day, Calvin woke up.
