A Vengeful Bride novel Chapter 369

Smelling it, Joanna's body trembled slightly.

She put on a cold face and walked into the room. Then the housekeeper closed the door.

"Get out of here!"

The curtains in the room were pulled, and inside the room was dark, giving people a very gloomy feeling. Joanna couldn't see where Cedric was until his angry roar sounded from a nearby place. Joanna was scared and stepped back in a hurry. Then she bumped into the table and the cup on the table fell to the ground into pieces.

Looking at the broken glasses on the ground, Joanna felt bitter in her heart.

"It's me." Joanna suppressed the bitterness in her heart and whispered to the black shadow under the window.

When Joanna saw that Cedric's body suddenly froze, she stood still and didn't move. She pinched her palm and said gently, "I know that the death of Abigail is a severe blow to you. I feel the same. Although I didn't get along with Abigail for a long time, I have regarded her as my younger sister. I am also very sad for her."

"Cornelia and Athena really worry about you. Cedric, you shouldn't be like this. Buck up!"

"Kerr needs your care. The Cedric I know is not a coward." With a hint of sadness on Cedric's haggard face, he slowly got up from the ground and staggered to Joanna.

Joanna did not say a word as she looked at Cedric who was approaching her step by step.

When they got closer, Cedric's eyes were filled with sadness. He raised his hand. Joanna thought that Cedric was drunk and would beat her. However, he just touched Joanna's face and muttered, "Joanna... my younger sister... is dead."

Cedric spoke to Joanna in an extremely sad and hoarse voice, which made Joanna feel pain in her heart.

Her eyes were filled with tears. For the first time, she did not push away Cedric's hand.

"I promised my parents that I would take good care of Abigail. She is still so young. I have been taking care of her since she was born. From a toddler to a naughty girl, I was always by her side. How could she die?"

Cedric's painful voice made Joanna very sad.

She hugged Cedric, buried her face in his shoulder and said, "I know you can't accept her death. I know it."

"How could she die? She told me that she wanted a exclusive teddy bear. I have bought it and planned to give it to her when she was 13 years old. Why did she die? She is still so young. Why..."

"Don't be sad, Cedric. We're here by your side."

"It's me who didn't take good care of her. I don't deserve to be her elder brother. I didn't... take good care of her. I'm useless..."

Cedric seemed to be crazy. After pushing Joanna away, he clenched his fists and punched the wall. His actions were extremely fierce. His desperate expression made Joanna extremely sad.

"Enough, stop torturing yourself!"

Joanna hugged Cedric from behind and growled at him.

Cedric shouldn't be blamed for Abigail's death. Joanna really didn't want Cedric to hurt himself...

"I'm so painful... I'm really... painful..."

"Cedric!"

All of a sudden, Cedric fell on Joanna and fainted. Joanna was so worried that she called out his name loudly. However, Cedric had lost consciousness and his face was so pale.

Hearing Joanna's scream, Cornelia immediately rushed in. Seeing that Cedric's hands were bleeding, Cornelia immediately asked the housekeeper to call Aneirin. Ten minutes later, Aneirin Situ arrived and quickly bandaged Cedric's wounds.

"Abigail's death is a severe blow to Cedric. The only thing we can do now is to comfort him."

"We know." Looking at Cedric who was lying on the bed with a pale face, Cornelia said with a wry smile.

After Aneirin left, Cornelia turned around and said to Joanna, "Joanna, could you stay here and take care of Ashe these days?"

Looking at Cedric's pale face, Joanna wanted to refuse, but she couldn't get rid of Cedric's desperate look in her mind.

"Okay." Finally, Joanna looked at Cornelia and nodded gently.

Seeing this, Cornelia let out a sigh of relief. She pressed her uncomfortable nose and muttered, "Abigail's funeral will be held in a few days. I hope that Ashe and Nacho can be fine. I'm relieved that you can stay with Ashe. Athena is accompanying Nacho. He has always been maturer and steadier than Ashe. I can rest assured with him."

Abigail's death was a very unbelievable but unforgettable truth for everyone.

"Is Nacho still the same?" Athena looked at the housekeeper who came downstairs with food in his hand. There was a hint of helplessness and melancholy on his face.

"Madam, he refuses to eat anything." The housekeeper looked at Athena worriedly.
