When I Met You novel Chapter 38

Ryan stared at Vanessa’s back for a very long time before turning around and disappearing into the room. He also locked the door.

What happened next… About Vanessa’s destination and also how things would transpire, he no longer had any interest.

By the time Vanessa reached Edward’s room, it was almost daybreak. Under the guidance of the butler, she immediately intruded into his room and shut the door. She lied on his bed and discarded all of her clothes.

At the same time, a commotion had broken out outside. The butler was preventing Jarvis from barging into Edward’s room.

“You can’t go in now. You can’t!”

The butler warned Jarvis loudly while shoving him.

In the end, Jarvis shot a cold glare at the butler which frightened the butler greatly. He no longer tried to stop him.

After trying for so long, the butler had no other choice but to allow Jarvis to come in.

“Open the door to Edward’s room now. Tell me where he is now!”

“I’m terribly sorry… You can’t… I won’t tell you anything about that. I advise you to go back to where you came from.”

The butler reiterated, and there was an awkward expression on his face. He made a face at the waiter behind him to signal him to inform Ryan about this.

Edward was disturbed by the noise outside his room. He frowned slightly as he felt a slight throbbing in his head. It was a pain stemming from hangover which caused him to rub his temples non-stop.

He was sure that he didn’t get overdose on alcohol. Why was he feeling like this now?

Jarvis knitted his brows but he still got off the bed. He headed straight to the door, seemingly wanting to go outside.

Vanessa wanted to stop him but she hurriedly retracted her out-reaching hand. She just remained silent while turning over to change her posture, pretending to be soundly asleep.

When Edward was at the door, he clad himself with a coat and opened the door. He saw Jarvis standing there with an extremely terrifying expression on his face.

“Are you looking for me?”

Edward stared at Jarvis coldly.

Jarvis simply snorted, “For the sake of your reputation, we will talk in your room.”

“We can talk here.”

Jarvis wanted to enter the room, but Edward immediately stopped him.

He wasn’t about to let him do whatever he pleased.

“You can put down your dignity, but I am not ready to let Susan suffer the same thing!”

Jarvis shot a sharp and cold gaze at Edward as he uttered these words. After saying that, he ignored Edward’s attempt to stop him and barged into his room.

The room was hazy and dark, and there was an ambiguous scent in the air… If Jarvis never knew that Susan had consumed that kind of drug, he wouldn’t even have such a thought, but unfortunately, he knew what consuming that drug meant.

Hence, he felt extremely disgusted by the scene in front of him. Without even thinking, he flung the curtain to one side and in an instant, the whole room was flooded with sunlight.

However, due to his actions, a figure who was pretending to be asleep in bed immediately came into view.

Vanessa pretended to be just awake as she opened her eyes slowly and muttered, “Edward, it’s still so early… It’s too bright, can you pull the curtain shut?”

At that moment, to her surprise, she saw Jarvis was present in the room too!

She was shocked by this fact as she covered herself with a blanket.

In a split second, when Jarvis saw Vanessa lying in bed, he lurched forward without warning and threw a punch at Edward.

His movement was so sudden and he mustered almost all of his strength into his punch.

“You animal!”

Jarvis roared but Edward was able to push Jarvis off of him. He frowned as he stared at Vanessa lying in bed.

Everything that happened last night felt like a dream… However, in that dream, he couldn’t differentiate between Susan or that woman he only encountered once from long time ago.

Why was Vanessa here?
