What Separates Me and You novel Chapter 13

Just as Avery was about to go find a doctor, Josephine pulled her back.

Stunned, Avery asked, “Don’t…tell me you want to have the baby? But why would you give birth to that scumbag’s child?”

Josephine shook her head and gestured, “He won’t want the baby.”

“Well, then let’s get that abortion.”

Josephine moved her fingers slowly and expressed, “I want the baby.”

Confused, Avery asked, “Why?”

“The baby is mine,” she replied.

After a moment of silence, Avery sat back down, not knowing what to say.

Yes, this child belonged not only to Lewis but also to Josephine.

She had no relatives at the moment, and not even her own husband cared about her. She longed to have a family member of her own. She needed love, a lot of it. Whether it was to be loved or to love, there had to be someone to hold onto this love.

Avery reached out to caress Josephine’s cheek, saying softly, “Give birth to the child, then. I’ll help you raise it.” Her words made Josephine tear up.

She stared at Avery blankly, who still had bandages wrapped around her head. The tenderness and warmth in her eyes were so sincere.

Josephine had never thought there would be someone who would risk their life for her.

“Don’t cry, or the baby will be sad.”

Josephine sobbed and pushed down the lump in her throat, trying to force out a smile.

She nodded her head, determined to divorce Lewis.

Only by divorcing him could she have her own baby.

She recalled last year when she was pregnant and naively thought that if she showed Lewis and Nancy the pregnancy test results, they would change their attitude toward her and Lewis would love her a little more.

But reality hit her hard.

Lewis casually threw the test results on the sofa, and along with that, her heart fell from the clouds to the mud like that piece of paper.
