Chapter 36 Cordelia’s Secrets 

Mae’s proud voice came from the phone. As usual, she thought she deserved it. 

“Oh, I miss you, so I come to see you,” Mae said coquettishly. 

Cordelia refused, “Go back to the company to work.” 

Realizing that Cordelia was about to hang up, Mae hurriedly said, “Cordelia, I brought Mom along. Mom said she wanted to apologize to you.” 

Apologized? 

Cordelia’s eyes widened in disbelief. 

She wanted to see how Janice, who was always arrogant, condescended to apologize to the daughter she despised. 

Ten minutes later, Janice and Mae came in. 

However, Cordelia didn’t let them into the house but received them in the yard. 

“Cordelia, Elijah helped solve the problem of Kevin’s company. I… I am here to apologize to you.” 

Janice knew when to eat humble pie and when to hold her head high. She bowed to Cordelia and apologized nicely. 

Mae helped to smooth things over. “Cordelia, Mom knows she’s wrong. Please forgive her, okay? 

Please!” 

Cordelia watched Janice and Mae acting coldly. When they finished speaking, she said, “Apology accepted, but Mrs. Janice Deleon, what I told you that day still counts.” 

Janice understood what Cordelia was talking about, so she smiled and said, “Cordelia, I know you’re angry. Give me a chance, okay?” 

“Since you’ve got what you want, cherish it! From the moment you offended me on the street, our relationship ended!” 

After all, apart from giving birth to her after ten months of pregnancy, Janice didn’t fulfill any responsibility to Cordelia. 

Janice became a little anxious. “You damn girl, you become arrogant because you have someone to support you, right? You know what? Without the support of our family, you will be kicked out by the Hansen family sooner or later!” 

Mae chimed in, “Right. Cordelia, apart from being Mrs. Hansen, what else do you have? Don’t be ignorant. Only we are your family forever!”

Cordelia was amused by Mae’s words.

Cordelia frowned. “What did I do?” 

Janice stepped forward with a smile and grabbed Cordelia’s wrist. “It seems that your grandma didn’t tell you something. When you were 14 years old, you slept with a man…” 

Suddenly, Mae stepped forward and covered Janice’s mouth. “Mom, stop that.” 

“It seems that you know a lot of Cordelia’s secrets. Why don’t you tell me about them?” 

Elijah slowly walked in from the door. His eyes were cold and stern, and he was not as gentle and nice as he used to be. 

He looked at Janice and Mae with his sharp eyes as he raised his voice. “Tell me.”
