The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1452

Chapter 1452 Photos

He had to tread carefully whenever he was working. After all, friends were nonexistent in this industry. The only thing that existed was profit. After living in such a dangerous world for a long time, it felt great being genuine for a moment.

When half time came around, Ian pulled his shirt up to wipe his forehead.

The moment he came to the end line, Cindy came over with a bottle of water and a towel. “Not bad. You passed my hot guy evaluation.”

Ian whispered, “I think I’m a bit too OP. These guys are just highschoolers.”

Cindy smiled. “You’re thinking too highly of yourself.”

Ian almost spewed his water out. He capped the bottle and poked Cindy’s forehead with the base of it. It was done by reflex, so neither of them thought much about it.

They were only halfway through the match, so they had the second half left.

Cindy fanned Ian with his hat. “Why don’t you just stop here? I don’t remember seeing you exercising regularly. Wouldn’t this be too much for you?”

After he wiped his sweat off, Ian put the towel on her shoulder. “I’m not as weak as you think.”

Cindy snorted. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you if your legs hurt.”

They could chat and even have a little banter because barely anyone knew them there. Just when they were chatting, Cindy saw the girls snapping photos all across the court. They weren’t aiming the cameras at anyone, just the court in general. All the players on the court were their targets. Cindy couldn’t stop that, of course.

Ian noticed that as well, but he only looked at them for a moment. “It’s alright. I don’t think they’re taking my pictures.”

Not that he could do anything if they were. The girls probably didn’t even recognize him. They probably took the pictures because the match was exciting. Everyone else was fine with it, so he had to go along.

After break time was over, Ian went back to finish the second half. Cindy remained at the end line and cheered for him sometimes. Ian would hear her and wave at her, saying he got it.

But the second half ended halfway through. The opposing team couldn’t keep it up anymore. They lost out too much on both points and vibe, so they gave up in the end. Some of them wanted to go home as well.

Ian thought he’d call it a night as well. Although some of the boys wanted him to keep going, he refused, saying he had work the next day.

Ian came back to chat with Cindy for a while, then they went home. After they washed themselves up, Cindy was going to get some water, but Ian stopped her.

Cindy didn’t know why he stopped her, so she teased, “What is it? Your legs are starting to hurt, aren’t they?”

Ian smiled. “Still on about that, huh? Just telling you that someone posted our photos.”

But it didn’t affect them. In fact, a lot of netizens thought they were getting along like a sweet couple.

Cindy blinked. “The girls, huh?”

“Probably.” Ian wasn’t sure either. “But it doesn’t matter. From what I can tell, the photos aren’t gonna affect us negatively.”

“I see.” No negative news is the best news. “Then that’s great. It’s getting late now. Go get some sleep, you.”

They said good night and went to their own rooms. The moment Cindy was alone, she checked the photos online and saw the photos of Ian on the basketball court. The lighting and resolution weren’t great, but it was obvious that Ian and Cindy were in the photos. Maybe it was the angle, but she and Ian seemed to be standing inches away from each other, and they seemed to be smiling.

Some of the photos were taken when Ian poked her forehead with the bottle, and those made them look close. Thanks to the atmosphere and the blurry lighting, they became a natural filter and made the photos look like they came straight out of a highschool romance drama.
