The Good Girl's Revenge novel Chapter 15

Ever since she returned to the Masons, the old man no longer restricted Meredith's activities

Meredith knew in her heart that no matter where she went, the Xaviers could find her back, not to mention that she now understood that there was no place for her in this world other than the Xaviers.

This is the capability of the head of the family. He clearly was no longer restricting Meredith, but he still let her feel that there was an invisible iron chain tied to her and she could not escape forever.

Anyway, it was good for Meredith to be able to enter and leave freely. After getting this permission, she bought herself a cheap phone and got a SIM card. She hesitated for a while before editing a text message and sending it to a number with which she was familiar enough that she could recite.

In less than a minute, there was a phone call, "Damn, Meredith, you are so bad. I actually had to call the prison to find you had been released early. Where have you been for more than a month and you only remembered to contact me now? Do you know I'm going crazy looking for you?"

Julius's voice came from the other end, loud and noisy, but Meredith's heart warmed up.

Back then, when Meredith took the blame for Ava, no one believed her and only Julius stood by her side. Later, when Meredith was almost beaten to death by in prison, it was also he who found a solution, by arguing with his family and asking them to save her life. In exchange, he offered to study abroad and then come back to take charge of the family business.

If it weren't for him, there wouldn't have been Meredith.

Meredith smiled. "It's not my fault. I didn't expect that I would be released so soon. I called your domestic number, but no one answered. And I don't know your overseas number."

"Come on out. I got the good news and found a reason to go back home. Let's have dinner together!"

As soon as she arrived, Meredith saw Julius was already waiting there. When he saw her, he came over with a close bear hug. "You've suffered."

Meredith shook his head. "It's over."

Julius looked at Meredith's eyes, which contained sorrow and pain. She must have suffered a lot in there since she became haggard and mature.

"Let's not talk about this. Let's eat." Meredith didn't want this reunion to become sorrowful, so she broke the silence.

The two of them sat down, eating, and talking about their recent situations.

"You married..." Julius almost ate the plate. He knew Derek but the man was too mysterious and dangerous.
