The CEO's Dirty Little Secret novel Chapter 24

Roman waited for about ten minutes before he picked his briefcase and the bottle of wine up from the passenger seat and got out of the car.

The security team would have been watching him, and the last thing he wanted was for anyone to claim he’d lost his damn mind.

  But he had.

  He'd lost it completely.

It wasn’t even three in the afternoon yet. He’d had meetings lined up until five but here he was, ringing Evelyn’s doorbell. The moment he’d been told she was home he had cancelled everything, grabbed the new contract and drove Evelyn’s brand new car here. All because she hadn’t called him as he had expected after he had left her university papers. Had she even looked at them or she had been too eager to go back to her little boyfriend?

In his mind, he had dragged her out of that apartment in several different ways. But that shit was coming to an end tonight. He hadn’t told Phillip what time to pick him up because, as messed up as the whole situation was, he was staying the night.

  Staying the night at Evelyn’s.

If that didn’t say insane then he didn’t know what did.

Staying the night was against his old rules but a slight change had been necessary. Evelyn was making everything spiral out of control and he needed to get a grip on this situation before it got completely out of hand.

He wasn’t asking for too much from her. A little respect from the woman he shared himself with, that was all. She saw him at his most vulnerable when he was completely lost in her, and that required a lot of trust on both their parts. So he would stay over and play her game because everyone knew you caught more flies with honey. Trust was crucial in this arrangement but Evelyn had to earn it again. Things were going to change.

He rang the bell again, and when there was no answer, he pulled his key out of his pocket and let himself in. Once he put his case down, he headed towards the kitchen to get some wine glasses, and that was when he heard the soft music from the back garden.

He set the wine down on a counter and slowly walked to the large, picturesque window. The decking ran the whole length of the back of the house in an ‘L’ shape, with the hot tub away from the house on the furthest end.

And in front of it, singing and dancing along to the music, was the woman who was slowly turning everything in his life upside down. Her hips moved sensually to the music, every curve captivating him, holding him in place.

He had seen skimpier bikinis in his lifetime but the one Evelyn was wearing... The top barely covered her full, perky tits and she’d tied it behind her in a knot. The bikini was the same. Barely there - a little scrap of material covering the front and nothing but strings holding it together on the sides. All he had to do was pull the strings and she would be completely naked.

The image hit him hard. It felt like he had been gone for months and not days. Lust washed through his veins and for a moment it terrified him. This was a dangerous game. Evelyn Bright was dangerous. And yet he was willing to go through all this, play all these unnecessary games, just so he could lie between her legs a little bit longer.

Something told him to run but he couldn’t look away. How could he?

His thoughts slowly vanished from his mind as he watched the goddess outside. That was what she was. A goddess with the most perfect body, capable of bringing anyone to their knees.

A goddess that he needed to worship with every inch of himself as soon as possible.

Without another thought, he walked to the cupboard and took out two wine glasses before he grabbed the bottle of wine. Then he went outside, unwilling to wait any longer.

Evelyn had her eyes closed and a smile on her face. Like the last time he had seen her, she had no make-up on and her luscious curls were piled messily on top of her head.

This was the woman who'd captivated him from the first day and held him for months. Whatever else was going through her mind, she was still the same beneath all those games. He would peel all of the deceitful layers off her until only the part of her that remained was the one that agreed that this was where she needed to be.

It took a while but Evelyn finally opened her eyes. The smile died on her lips and she stopped dancing, but her eyes... They still held the same fire he'd always seen in them.

  "Roman..."

And her voice was just as breathless.

Evelyn was a sexual being, the very personification of sex. After all the games were done, she would always be ruled by her body. By him. Because it was only him she looked at like this.

"You're early," Evelyn said. "I hadn't started preparing..."

An unintended bonus. If she hadn't yet prepared for the night then he could assume control.

He walked towards her, watching the way she sucked in a breath.

  "I couldn't wait," he said.

And it wasn't a lie. She'd been a distraction all week. He'd been ready to get back here from the first night the security told him she hadn't returned home.

He placed the bottle and wine glasses on a table before he closed the distance, leaving only a hair’s breadth between them. Though he ached to touch her, he kept his hands at his sides. Being with Evelyn was always an exercise in control.

  “Hi,” he whispered.

Because he towered over Evelyn she had to crane her neck to look up at him. Her warm breath fanned his face and her cheeks were already flushed. He could bet everything he had that she was already drenched. His Evelyn couldn't help herself around him.

He had the biggest advantage over any and all the men in her life. This woman loved him and she couldn’t hide it, and that was all he needed to keep her here.

  “Hi,” Evelyn whispered back.

And then he lowered his head.

He couldn’t lie, he had been looking forward to this. This part wasn’t a game. This part, Evelyn gave to him willingly. Her lips were soft beneath his and welcomed him as he tasted her, teased her. And when she opened up for him and let him deepen the kiss, he couldn’t help the moan as his body responded to hers.

He’d not had nearly enough when he pulled away. But this was ‘date night’ and not about the sex.

“I’ll... I’ll go and change,” Evelyn said.

“No need. You looked like you were enjoying yourself, don’t let me stop you. Besides, it’s been a while since I’ve been in a hot tub,” he said as he stepped back from her and loosened his tie.

By the time he had stripped naked, Evelyn couldn’t hide the hunger in her eyes. But she wasn’t getting any of him tonight. He poured two glasses of wine and set them on the side of the hot tub before he lowered himself in.

  Let the games begin.
