Allie left immediately after she had successfully caused chaos at the Musk residence.

Upon arrival at the hospital, all she saw was Cayden keeping Jeffrey company beside the hospital bed. Lily and Kendrick were nowhere to be seen.

Hmm... It looks like Cayden is really worried about his grandpa... In that case, I hope Jeffrey will take a lot longer to recover! In fact, it'd be even better if his condition worsens to a point where he needs his grandson by his side at all times! That way, Cayden will have to forget about Livingsfill and focus entirely on looking after his grandpa! Being the eldest son of the Moore family, he must stay by his grandpa's bedside, or he'll be labeled as an unfilial grandson! I know I've probably lost all of my humanity trying to keep Avery away from Cayden, but I have no other choice! The day Avery marries into the Moore family will be the day my suffering begins! Honestly, it's almost as if Avery's sole purpose in life is to make things difficult for me!

Her train of thoughts was interrupted when the housekeeper in charge of serving Jeffrey came in with a lunchbox in hand.

Allie then opened up the lunchbox and took the food out.

“These are all your favorite dishes, Dad. Here, eat up. It'll help speed up your recovery,” she said while feeding him the food.

Although Jeffrey was still ill, he did have quite an appetite.

Halfway through feeding him, Allie began, “Dad, there's something I need to tell you about right now.”

Instead of trying to stop her, Jeffrey simply kept quiet and waited for her to go on.

Knowing Cayden's temper, Allie didn't dare look at him as she continued, “Toby asked to see me earlier, so I went over to find out what it was about. W-Well... H-He told me that Ery is pregnant with Dylan's child...”

Surely enough, Jeffrey's expression froze the moment he heard that.

What? If Ery truly does love Cayden, then she should take every precaution to remain chaste for him! If Dylan dares force himself on her, we can just sue him for assault or something! Her silently getting pregnant like this, however, is just downright being disloyal toward Cayden!

Cayden shot his mother a cold glare before explaining patiently to Jeffrey, “That's not true, Grandpa. Dylan made that up on the fly just so he could trick Uncle Toby.”

As the truth turned out to be completely different from what Allie was expecting, she found herself tensing up so much that she nearly dropped the spoon in her hand.

Meanwhile, in Livingsfill, Avery did everything else except the cooking. After washing and cutting up the vegetables, she went off to buy kitchenware, such as plates and silverware.

The colleagues all exchanged contact information with each other over dinner, and they even ordered some beer after the meal.

Since Avery wasn't good at holding her liquor, she decided to limit herself to a glass of beer.

“The air here sure is great! I can't wait to see what this place will look like when we're done with developing the land!” Christopher exclaimed while cleaning up the table.

The beautiful scenery was the only attractive part about Livingsfill.

Even so, they had to stay there for a period of time and experience it themselves in order to come up with the perfect proposal.

Avery was doing the dishes in the kitchen when a car pulled up outside.

Everyone glanced in the direction of the car upon hearing the noise, but Avery couldn't see anything from where she stood.

Moments later, two guys could be seen stepping out of the Porsche Cayenne that was parked outside the building.

“All right, we're here! I'll be heading home now, okay?” said the guy who came out of the passenger seat.

Dylan handed him a wad of cash, and the guy ran home happily with the money after that.

The residents of Livingsfill knew it was only a matter of time before the town would be demolished for development purposes.

Given the huge commotion caused by the arrival of the employees and construction crew, it became a lot more obvious that the demolition would soon take place.

Dylan didn't know Avery's exact location, as she had neither answered Dylan's calls nor replied to his texts. Left with no other choice, he asked around for a bit and came across someone kind enough to show him the way.

The employees of Trident Group had no idea who Dylan was, but they figured he could be a director of some sort after seeing his car and outfit.

Dylan gave off a slightly intimidating vibe as he asked with an eyebrow arched, “May I know where Avery is?”

One of them pointed in the direction of the kitchen, prompting him to make his way over.
